PDAIS 030 – Extras III

Well as I predicted the result of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest was pretty unpredictable and, in the end, it came down to running order pure and simple. I think any number of songs could have won, but of those only Azerbaijan was in the favoured last 6 spots in the running order. Still, well done to Azerbaijan (it was a good song after all) and it looks like Baku next year!

I don’t think any of the songs really deserved to come last this year, but Switzerland was after the commercial break and that’s the kiss of death really. The UK managed a respectable 11th, which was not bad considering out draw and some minor sound problems. It certainly made us look like credible contenders, so well done to Blue and the BBC. If you missed it all, here are the results and the winner (the official video since that gives you an idea of how much better the recorded version is than the live performance).
