Well Episode 6 of our serial “Action In Space” is now out, once again featuring the lovely Adam Purcell of the Staggering Stories podcast as supervillain The Slug (happy birthday Adam!). In this one, the crew of the Ark in Space find themselves strapped to tables and threatened with circular saws (like you do). Will they escape to fight another day? Incidentally, this episode was another example of the PDAIS jinx. You may remember that there was a mention of Elizabeth Taylor in PDAIS 027’s discussion of Asterix the Gaul (there is a link between them – honest!), and that she passed away not long afterwards (on 23rd March 2011). Well in this case, I seem to remember that no sooner had I written the first draft of the script for episode 6 of “Action In Space” and included a rather nifty quote about slugs from the singer Captain Beefheart, than he went and died on 17th December 2010. I’m sure a lot of people are now quaking in their boots in case the jinx strikes them next.
